Graduate Students

We are on the lookout for talented students who wish to pursue PhD and MSc research within the AER lab. Students come to the lab from a variety of educational backgrounds (Environmental Biology, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering...). I have a limited number of opportunities each year to begin graduate work within one of our projects, so be sure to contact me early. If you are eligible for NSERC or provincial funding - apply! Winning external fellowships provides you with greater options for graduate school.
Information about applying to Graduate School at McGill can be found at the following websites:

Undergraduate Research Assistants

Each summer, I hire senior undergraduates to assist us in the field and in the lab. You will get the opportunity to learn how to apply the theory from your classes to real world science - and get paid! I make hiring decisions around March of each year, so be sure to contact me. If you are eligible, apply for an NSERC-USRA or McGill-SURA award. I prefer to have students who have taken or are taking GEOG321 but this is not mandatory. You need to have a science background, be self-motivated, able to work in a team environment and be comfortable in an outdoor setting. Ideally, you would possess a valid driver's license. Bilingual (English-French) is an asset but not a requirement.
Select students conduct their own research towards a senior project (typically through Geography or the McGill School of Environment). If you are thinking of doing a senior project and are interested in the research that you see on this site, contact me.
